Removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) from hospital wastewater by electro fenton process using graphite–graphite electrochemical system

Removal of COD from hospital wastewater generated Al- Diwaniyah located in Iraq was achieved using graphite–graphite electro-Fenton (EF) system. The effect various operational parameters on the removal efficiency investigated based response surface methodology (RSM). Optimal conditions were current density 20mA/cm2, FeSO4 concentration of, and time It a elimination 97.964 % at specific energy consumption 10.78 kWh/kg. results indicated that had least with which chemical oxygen demand is eliminated, however, share greatest effect, followed by concentration. adequacy model equation confirmed its high R2 value (99.62%). present study shows EF system an efficient tool for removing wastewaters.
